New Zealand Infantry (2nd NZEF) in WW2

Members of the 2nd NZEF, c1941. Note the "lemon squeezer" bash in the slouch hats adopted in some NZ Units in 1910/11 and still worn by some Units today.

The details of this Unit and it's mascot are on the bottom of the photo. Click to enlarge. Note the "lemon squeezer" hats. Note also that the arms (rifles) are sloped (put over the shoulder) on the right.  This was used as a method of resting the normal arm (the left) while on the march. Arms were "changed" to provide relief.
