Uniforms of
the Commonwealth. New
Zealand, Australia, Britain and Canada are represented.
The Aussie is a member of 13th Light
Horse Regiment wearing the colour patch of 2nd Division Mounted Troops
(red and white diamond). He also wears the ANZAC "A" in bronze
(1917 issue not the 1916 cloth type). The woven proficiency badge on his
sleeve means he is either a saddler or harness maker. |
| He
wears the two ribbons of the War Medal and Victory Medal and one
suspects that the ribbon for the 1914/15 Star is there but hidden. The
leather harness he wears was soon discarded for canvas replacements that
lasted longer and required less maintenance. |
