Top left. Queensland Infantry set up as Captain Farquar , Qld Governor, Lamington's ADC 1901. This  uniform built as far as records would
allow us to duplicate.


Bottom left. The Boer War Soldiers are on Emerald Station, basically set up as
Bushmen's Contingent off to war.


Centre. The Great War Sergeant wears original breeches, tunic, puttees & boots & the flat-top. ORs peaked cap. The original set
of 1908/15 Australian Leather Equipment is dated from 1916 - 1918, some of which saw overseas service but was not good in the wet so was replaced with British canvas equipment.

11 November 1915. Portrait of 679 Sergeant (Sgt) Francis Joseph Stammers, wearing a 1903 - 1912 pattern militia uniform, with his wife, Flora on their wedding day. The uniform has been made into full dress with the addition of white epaulettes, aiguilettes and piping. 

Sgt Stammers enlisted on 17 September 1914, serving as a private in B Company of the 8th Light Horse. He was wounded in the leg at the charge of The Nek at Gallipoli and returned to Australia on board the troopship Ulysses on 3 September 1915.

He remained in the AIF, working as a recruiting sergeant at Kew, Vic until he was discharged on 6 March 1916, at which time he transferred to the regular army Instructional Corps as a temporary Sergeant Major. (Donor R. Spalding)
