prior to their departure for Darwin NT. The group were the first
Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) personnel to be recruited for
service in Darwin and were possibly posted to 119 Australian General
Hospital (AGH). Note their white uniforms, particularly their gloves,
dresses, jackets, hats and shoes. Note also their silver buttons and
that none of the group are wearing rank badges. All are wearing AIF
