The Sister Sarah Cousen Collection Page 1

Miss Sarah Cousen was born in 1893 and died in 1971. She lived in Shipley, Yorkshire.

She had one (elder) sister, Mabel.

Both died spinsters - both said that all the young men they knew when they were young died on the Somme.

Sister Cousen served in Palestine in WW1 and collected a fine photographic record including many that involved Australians either directly or indirectly.

The cream of that collection is here.

Donor: David R Smith
