A series of coloured cards depicting the colour patches approved for infantry units of the 6th Division, supplied by the AQMG, AIF Depots in UK, on 5.6.1917,48 show brown as the battalion colour of the 70th Battalion however this is believed to be in error, and purple, as shown in the Official War History, was that issued.
